Saudi Arabia Umrah Visa Requirements

Umrah is the sunnah of our beloved Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W.). Muslims from different corners of the world, visit Makkah, Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah. Remember that the Umrah is not compulsory like Hajj. But still, Muslims perform it because it is the source of blessing and way to get forgiveness from Allah Almighty. 

Planning to go for Umrah in 2020? For this, you also need to get full Umrah Packages. There are some important requirements that need to be fulfilled for the Umrah visa. Remember that a person should apply for the visa through an approved Umrah travel agent. 

In the following blog, we are going to list done all the Umrah visa requirement to guide you in the right way:

1: A person have to submit a completed original Umrah visa application form. It is essential for the person to read and sign the statement written at the end of the application form. If a person wants to get a visa application form by post, then he has to send a large, self-addressed envelope to the nearest Saudi Consulate.

If any person is not having a Muslim name, then he or she should have to submit a certificate from a Mosque or Islamic center that should tell that the applicant is a Muslim.

2: A recent passport size color photograph with a white background needs to be attached to the application form. The photograph should be a full-face view and the applicant should be facing the camera directly. Side or angled views will NOT be accepted in any case.

3: The passport of the applicant should be valid for at least 6 months starting from the date of submission of the application form.

4: The applicant should have a confirmed and non-refundable airline ticket. Note that the departure from Saudi Arabia should be done within two weeks from the date of entering the country.

5: Women and children should travel with husband/father or a male relative called Mahram. Proof of relationship is also required. A marriage certificate is needed for a wife, a birth certificate is needed for a child that should be having the names of both parents. The Mahram should travel into and out of Saudi Arabia on the same flight with his wife and children.

Note: If a woman is 45 years old or older, then she is allowed to go without a Mahram if she is traveling with an organized group or family. But she has to submit a notarized “No Objection Certificate” from her Mahram.

Note: If the applicant is not a national of the country from where he or she is applying for the visa, then he or she has to attach the valid residence permit with the application.

6: A vaccination certificate for the Meningococcal Meningitis should be attached with the application. The certificate of vaccinations should be carried with yourself when arriving in Saudi Arabia. The certificate should not be issued for more than three years and it should not be less than 10 days before arriving at Saudi Arabia. Moreover, the certificate should be valid for three years.

7: Umrah visa is valid only for 2 weeks. Within these 2 weeks, the applicant has to perform the Umrah. He or she should ensure that they have to leave Saudi Arabia within two weeks from the date of entry.

Note: The Umrah visa for the month of Ramadan cannot be extended to the last day of Ramadan. It is compulsory for the applicant to leave Saudi Arabia by the end of Ramadan and he cannot celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr in KSA.

8: The Umrah and Hajj visas are free but the applicant has to pay for the services that he or she will get in Saudi Arabia.

A person can pick 3-star, 4-start, and 5 star Umrah packages according to the facilities they need and their budget.
